Example 4: Switching Process

 

In this example:

-          employee E (Ref No. 21) has invested 50% in Portfolio 1 and 50% in Portfolio 2

-          the investments in Portfolio 1 are switched to Portfolio 3

-          the investments in Portfolio 2 are switched to Portfolio 4

-          a switching fee of R5.00 is charged for each portfolio from which a switch is made

-          the unitisation batch run has been completed

 

Note:

This example focuses on the accounts of a single member.  The accounts of all members of the scheme will be updated similarly.

 

The scheme entries in this example are in respect of the one member only.  However, in reality, the entries are consolidated from the various member movements.
